Building Consensuality and Trust

Playing with Consent- a good topic for discussion!
It is the numero uno point on both The Kinky Salon Charter and The Superstar Nation Star Charter for good reason, and thus, not only worthy of discussion but an essential issue for us I feel….(with regards to moving forward as a community.)

I can say that almost every point where I saw either ‘breakdown’ or ‘room for improvement’ at the May Day Ball came up around this very issue.

First points that come to heart…..

1. Honoring Agreements
This is a major point in creating and establishing TRUST.
TRUST in needed for SAFETY.
SAFETY is needed for individuals to open up and share from an authentic place and what helps make for quality experiences!!!!

ONE:
If we make agreements with each other, lets honor them.
TWO:
If we make agreements with each other that we realize at some point we cannot honor , lets agree to check in to reshape the agreement (not just ‘check out’)
THREE:
If we make agreements that we feel we are honoring but others feel like we are not, lets agree to be open to hear their feedback with an open Heart and open Mind.

2. Respect for yourself and Others
Respect is an essential component in creating an environment of Consent.
Respect yourself ; awareness of how you treat yourself, carry yourself amongst others, self-tolerance, self-compassion, humor

Respect others;
Awareness of how we treat each other, respecting others boundaries, sensitivity to differences (not projecting our standards onto others!), open ourselves to receive each others’ gifts,
Be compassionate to others as we would like them to be in return (to coin a phrase…)etc.
